Gnupg - upgrade a trustdb?

Ok, so I created this problem for myself. But now I can't figure out
how to fix it.

The problem comes because I simply dropped a .gnupg directory along
with it's pubring, secring and trustdb into my ~/ directory so that I
could use my gpg keys. Except, the keyrings and trustdb were probably
about 2 years old. Now, if I already have somebody's public key in my
keyring, I can successfully send and receive encrypted mail from them.
But if I try to retrieve a new key gpg hangs trying to update the
trustdb. I then end up with a corrupted trustdb that makes gpg hang any
time I use it. If I copy the old trustdb back into place, I'm good to
go again.

So, I figure there must be some way to 'upgrade' the trustdb so that I
can fetch new keys without corrupting the trustdb, but I don't know
what it is. Anyone have any advice on a good way to fix this?

TIA,
Jacob
