APT options and dpkg

After deleting a conffile from the installed yaird package, I try to
reinstall the package to get back the conffile:

apt-get install --reinstall --option "APT::DPkg::Options={'--force-confmiss';}" yaird

However, this does not work. I seem to be able to only reinstall
with dpkg -i from APT's cache.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
