rescuing a server with adaptec SCSI wihtout reinstalling?

Hello

somehow the kernel i kept from the installation procedure was thrown out
by aptitude last time i didn't looked closely...

and now i have a machine that stops at a busybox claiming that something
doesn't exist:

after:
/scripts/local-top/evms: 32: /sbin/evms_activate: not found
/scripts/local-top/lvm: 36: vgchange: not found
Done.
ALERT! does not exist. Dropping to a shell!

and then the busybox....

is there a way to mount the mahcine by hand from there?

if i quit i simply get a
Kernel panic - not syncing: attempted to kill init!

rescue from a install cd yields nothing, since it doesn't install the
scsimodule..... thus wihtout seeing the discs it can do nothing...

what can i do to get the thing working again?
