VBLADE and ATA OVER ETHERNET

Does anyone use VBLADE to export devices to another machine?  I'm
trying to consolidate hard drives together using vblade and aoe. 
when I do modprobe aoe it sees the device but doesn't export anything
to /dev/etherd/.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
