     you will need to config the kernel for that sound chipset
	( modules is better .. and no initrd needed )

5 minutes later after clicky-tee-clicking around .. you're almost ready
to boot your new latest kernel

  7. and if you're paranoid .. add kernel buffer overflow protections
     and other acl
