Mine's the same version - with bpo1 appended. I guess that's a backport.
I have taken a peek over at the bug reporting page and though there are
some reports of problems with that version, and previous versions,
there is only one post that is somewhat similar - regarding seg faults
in crack-attack. I gave that a try; it pops up the same messages about
visuals not being supported, and the secondary screen disappears as
soon as it is drawn. It doesn't segfault, though.
1-9 is in unstable but there's no indication of when or if it will be
backported into sarge.
I'm debating whether or not to file a bug report. There is some cursory
mention of a .drirc file - I only found out about it when running
glxinfo with verbose debug turned on. There are some pages that
reference it, but whether it will help this issue, I can't say.
