Yopu could try getting a copy of SBM, which I always think stands for
Simple Boot Manager, but may stand for something else with the same
initials.  It's a floppy disk you boot.  Then it boots any of a variety
of devices, and you get to choose which.  You may need to get an
obsolete version of SBM if you need to use it on a very old machine.
