I use a little shell script (located in /usr/local/sbin):

#!/bin/sh

echo "Updating Postfix configuration"
postmap /etc/postfix/relocated
postmap /etc/postfix/transport
postmap hash:/etc/postfix/sasl_passwd
postmap hash:/etc/postfix/helo_checks
postmap hash:/etc/postfix/sender_checks
postmap hash:/etc/postfix/client_checks
newaliases
postfix reload

Whenever I update any of the components of my postfix configuration, I 
run this script.  You can tailor it to your particular configuration 
very easily.
