Re: ipssend and RaidMan on IBM xSeries

hey

I figured i'll do a check on the version of ips that's loaded with my
debian install.

i did a 'dmesg' and noticed this

===============================================
SCSI subsystem driver Revision: 1.00
ips 03:0e.0:Warning ! ! ! ServeRAID Version Mismatch
ips 03:0e.0:Bios = 7.10.20, Firmware = 7.10.20, Device Driver = 7.00.15
ips 03:0e.0:These levels should match to avoid possible compatibility problems.

The one that I'm concerned about is this....

ips 03:0e.0:Warning ! ! ! ServeRAID Version Mismatch

what version mismatch is this about?

is the version of ips completely outdated?

Should I consider upgrading it?

any ideas on how to go about doing so?

if yes, please help me out and point me to some documentation on the
net.... in the mean time i'll try and do some searching myself.

regards
