Hello David,

there exists an install script for OpenOffice for Debian and Ubuntu. I
used the one mentioned on http://glasen-hardt.de/ for installing a
german OpenOffice. I customized it a little to fit my needs. This way I
installed a german OpenOffice 2.0 on my etch and on my sarge system. The
script builds a deb package ready to be installed.

This german derivative is based on a script found at
http://www.piai.it/Alberto/doc/ooo-debianize-en.html

All works fine on my systems. Prior to installing OpenOffice 2.0 I
removed OpenOffice 1.x and renamed my .openoffice directory in my $HOME.
