The drop-down box disappeared from my browser both at work and at home
awhile ago, and has never come back through a number of upgrades. It
happened in each case when selecting different search engines. I
selected "Google," and the drop-down icon just went away. It's the
weirdest thing. That was back when only root could add new search
engines, in case that's changed more recently.
