Re: Putty (plink) causes zombie process while executing a command



Preamble: I don't know if I'll be able to help you on this since 
I know nothing about plink except what I've just discovered with 
apt-cache show putty-tools :(

Does the above command log you into the Windows box via ssh?  And 
should the "ls -l" be executed on the Windows box?  But surely 
that's only a unix command, isn't it?  Dos uses "dir".

The plot thickens.  The command was executed on the debian box.  Was 
the syntax of the command right?

Your home dir on the dos box?  Were you still logged in to the dos 
box?  Did you kill the process on Sarge from another terminal?  And 
dos understood "ls -l" ?

does work once you are logged in.  You need to be precise to track 
down the problem.

Sorry if I've wasted your time, but I would check the syntax of that 
first command to start with.
