How do I get a list of the packages I currently have installed?

`dpkg -l | egrep ^ii`

It'd be really nice if I could find out when they were installed too.

I don't think this information is kept.

If you always use aptitude, then /var/log/aptitude keeps the information.

dpkg --get-selections

dpkg -L your-package-name
