Re: Upgrading the kernel

I installed Sarge on my machine a while back, and since I'm not

genkernel (gasp) to build my kernel. For some reason though it

with out reinstalling or compiling my kernel myself?
apt-get install kernel-image-2.6.8-2-686
The actual name depends on your architecture. Choose one that best fits
your architecture.
This question comes frequently on this list. I realized that there is no
document out there which answers this question completely. So, I opened
up a wiki page http://wiki.debian.net/?KernelUpgradeTo2dot6
Hopefully others will add more info there.
