Python 2.3 vs Python 2.4

I have both. Python 2.3 has many "site packages" not in Python 2.4. Some 
Python apps need 2.4 to compile but come up missing these imports.

1. Can the 2.3 ones simply be copied to 2.4?
2. Any other way to resolve this. I would prefer to have ONE, recent Python 
around.
