so fix things in this order: emacsen-common,emacs21, auctex, emacs-googies-el.
examine the post-install script of /usr/lib/emacsen-common/emacs-install
line 28 and /usr/lib/emacsen-common/packages/install/auctex to see if
you can find and or fix this issue.
Or you can try to purge all emacs and then reinstall. But be aware of
the risks of this. Debian provides easy tools to remove and install
software.
