unplug a sca HD on software mirror
I just tested my installation of Sarge on a Intel Server with 6 SCA HDs
slot. I have partition swap, /boot, / at /dev/md0, /dev/md1
(ext2), /dev/md2 (ext3) respectively. md0 are with sda1 and sdb1,
md1 with sda2 and sdb2, md2 with sda3 and sdb3. When I tested
what would be happened when I unplug the sdb HD online, with wish to
its normal operation, and cat /boot/grub/menu.lst. But the result
is HD sda light flashing heavily with syslog fill with:
Jul 19 16:58:37 debian kernel: raid1: sda2: rescheduling sector 475148
Jul 19 16:58:37 debian kernel: raid1: sda2: redirecting sector 475148 to another mirror
Jul 19 16:58:37 debian kernel: raid1: sda2: rescheduling sector 475148
Jul 19 16:58:37 debian kernel: raid1: sda2: redirecting sector 475148 to another mirror
...
..
It make me poweroff the machine to save the machine.
What is happening? I would expect it should be normal failover...
