There seem to be a clash between xbase-clients which requires xorg's gl
packages and some other packages that require xfree's gl packages. It insisted
rather hard to remove wdm and xdm, at the moment it won't run my .xsession for
some reason so I get an empty xserver and at least with my matrox and no frame
buffer the console is junk once I switch back or kill X.
