If you are talking about the mouse replacement in many modern desktops,
you are probably searching for synaptics:

# apt-cache search synaptics config
ksynaptics - A KDE application to configure Synaptics TouchPad
tpconfig - configure touchpad devices
cpad-kernel-source - source for the Synaptics cPad driver
xfree86-driver-synaptics - Synaptics TouchPad driver for XFree86 server
qsynaptics - A QT application to configure Synaptic TouchPad
