sarge, 2.2.20 kernel insmod es1371 works fine and I can play sound no problem.For some time I have been struggling to get sound recording to work. This was part of my reason to upgrade from woody to sarge. So, I thought I'd try alssa.
apt-get install alsa no errors but alsaconf does not detect the es1371. :-( Joe
