Depending on your processor, you may want to upgrade to the 2.6.8-2-686
kernel.  '386' will run on 386 chips as well as Pentiums, 686 is for
pentium chips.

If you use aptitude interactively, there is a more comprehensive
description as to which kernel suits which h/w.
