If /etc/modprobe.conf exists, remove it. modprobe reads information
directly from /etc/modprobe.d, if /etc/modprobe.conf does not exist,
and recent versions of update-modules don't generate /etc/modprobe.conf
from the contents of /etc/modprobe.d anymore.
