vpnc client in debian: setup for normal users

Hi,

I set up the VPNC client on a laptop running Debian Sid and have been using it for a few months without any problems (only that I needed to modify my iptables script to allow for tun0 network interface).

I was wondering, is there an alternative to using vpnc-connect and vpnc-disconnect commands as root? The problem is that all normal users need to know the root password to make or break vpn connections. A better solution would be to make a dedicated group for VPN users, maybe a groups called VPN unless one already exists. If it does, I would sure like to know.

What do others use for using vpnc-connect and vpnc-disconnect? And to make these commands abstract from normal users.

regards,
