I don't understand what a "2wire PCMCIA card" is. Maybe "2wire" refers
to a brand?
Brands/models are typically less important than the chipset. Run "lspci
-vv" to see what devices you have and their chipsets. Then post the
chipset to your device, and perhaps someone can give you more info.

Also, I suspect you're running Woody, which is really ancient. Upgrading
to Testing or Sid will more likely get you a system that works more
easily with PCMCIA wireless cards. You may also want to consider
upgrading your kernel to a 2.4 or a 2.6, if you're running 2.2 ("uname
-a" will report your kernel version).
