I'm getting the same problem, although it seems to choose randomly from 
"file su", "file ntp", "file cron", etc.  

I'm using the logcheck Debian package 1.2.36.

Anyone else experienced this?  I'll file a bug report later today if no-one 
knows how to fix it.
