No php5 in woody or sarge?

Hi list,

I'm in need of php5 for some new projects. It appears that php5 is not
available in woody or sarge ("apt-cache search php5" gives no results). 

Whats the status of php5 and Debian?

How do others solve this? Are there reliable third-party apt-sources, or
do we simply bulid from the original source-code?
