running rosegarden with no midi devices
hi there.
I've been trying to run rosegarden4 on my computer for several
days now with a lot of agony in return. enough with the whines, on
to the tech stuff: uname -r gives: 2.6.8-10-amd64-k8. i'm trying to run
it on gnome (vs kde), but i've got the required packages installed (or
so i think...). alsa is running, i run the JACK daemon with:
jackd -d alsa
which seems to do fine. when i launch rosegarden, the whole
desktop freezes, and i have to kill X. i've tried running just the sequencer
as suggested in the rg faq, and this is what i get (deep breath):
