debian sarge lockup, requing forced reset

Hello,

I wonder if there is a reason that a forced reset does not try and
recover the ext3 journal and check the mounted rw partitions when
rebooting after a forced reset?

To work around this problem I had to do: tune2fs -C 255 /dev/mypartition
