[newbie] glib2.0 problem

Hi,

I tried to upgrade libgtk2.0 packages (testing) with dselect
which gave me the following error message.

_____
Setting up libgtk2.0-bin (2.6.2-3) ...
Updating the IM modules list for GTK+-2.4.0...Cannot load module
/usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.4.0/immodules/im-xim.so:
/usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.4.0/immodules/im-xim.so: undefined symbol:
g_assert_warning
/usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.4.0/immodules/im-xim.so does not export GTK+ IM module
API: /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.4.0/immodules/im-xim.so: undefined symbol:
g_assert_warning

dpkg: error processing libgtk2.0-bin (--configure):
subprocesses post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
 libgtk2.0-bin
_____

This made gdm hang and I wasn't able to log onto Gnome ever since.

All I know is that g_assert_warning is part of the libglib2.0 2.6.2 that
was upgraded together with libgtk.
What could be causing this?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

-DY
