I recently replaced my CRT monitor with a TFT panel - I have successfully reconfigured X so that it works fine in the panel's native resolution of 1280x1024. At boot up, while going through the BIOS check etc., the monitor displays in 'text mode' OK, but after the kernel boots, the first character of each line of text is missing, with the second character of each line being right up against the left-hand edge of the screen. This means it looks like: (just an example) etting system clock ... alculating module dependencies ... How can I fix this? I am running Debian Sarge, with a stock Debian kernel 2.6.8 and have an nVidia graphics card.
