Sounds eminating from sound card when playing dvd
Hello All:
I have an odd problem. I use alsa and have a CS3236
soundcard integrated onto the motherboard of a Dell
Optiplex GX1. The DVD is a Lite ON .
Three things.
(One) is the 2/3 pin wire that goes from the soundcard
on the motherboard to the dvd required in linux?
(Two) I get a strange dialing into the matrix sound
when first launching applications such as Totem Movie
Player (and the a few others--all of them).
After the first few seconds which is anoying but no
interference with watching the movie I get a bleeping
sound every second or so it goes
bleep...bleeep...bleeep...bleeep the whole time it is
running.
I do have two prong wiring in the house.
Does anyone know what the root cause of this is and a
solution for it.
(Three) I seem to be only play one channel of sound at
a time I cannot play the dvd and here gaim instant
messenger for instance.
