Palm pilot and hotplug ??
I am having trouble synching between my Palm and my Linux with KPilot.
When I create a new TODO item on the palm and then synch, despite saying
all went ok, I cannot find the item on the PC. Also the opposite is true
(create TODO on PC does not show up after hotsync on palm).
For some reason though the OLDER data from the Palm appears in KPilot on
the PC.
Here is some initial debug data. Thank you for any help,
Bob
My KPilot software thinks that my Palm is on /dev/ttyUSB0.
This is true but only WHILE an hotsync is in progress.
When I press te hotsync button on the unit I see that the device is seen :
Feb 15 14:09:16 localhost kernel: usb 2-1: new full speed USB device
using uhci_hcd and address 10
Feb 15 14:09:16 localhost kernel: visor 2-1:1.0: Handspring Visor / Palm
OS converter detected
Feb 15 14:09:16 localhost kernel: usb 2-1: Handspring Visor / Palm OS
converternow attached to ttyUSB0
Feb 15 14:09:16 localhost kernel: usb 2-1: Handspring Visor / Palm OS
converternow attached to ttyUSB1
but at the end of the hotsync I see:
Feb 15 14:10:39 localhost kernel: usb 2-1: USB disconnect, address 10
Feb 15 14:10:39 localhost kernel: visor ttyUSB0: Handspring Visor / Palm
OS converter now disconnected from ttyUSB0
Feb 15 14:10:39 localhost kernel: visor ttyUSB1: Handspring Visor / Palm
OS converter now disconnected from ttyUSB1
Feb 15 14:10:39 localhost kernel: visor 2-1:1.0: device disconnected
and in the KPilot application I see a consequent:
14:10:38 HotSync Completed.
14:10:43 Pilot device /dev/ttyUSB0 does not exist. Assuming the device
uses DevFS.
14:10:44 Trying to open device /dev/ttyUSB0...
14:10:44 Could not open device: /dev/ttyUSB0 (will retry)
Should I worry ???
