  Seems to be a keyboard config problem - have you set it correctly? Run:

 #dpkg-reconfigure console-data (to set keyboard map in the console) and 
 #dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 (to set keyboard map in the X enviroment)

  Both with root user.
