Adding Keyboard Shortcuts Gnome2

So I decided to try out Debian testing on my laptop. My initial thought
was that the interface looked a lot cleaner. However I have one small
little problem. I'm used to opening terminals and web browsers by using
various keyboard shortcuts as well as switching from workspace to
workspace. I have no idea where to set these options. I found the
keyboard shortcut application from the menu however this is very limited
in what you can actually do, and there is no way to add a new shortcut
this way.

Any help on this would be appreciated.
