pcmcia-cs is BROKE - it broke ndiswrapper & my wifi card

I'm running debian sarge. Everything was working fine, until I ran the
update (sudo aptitude update && sudo aptitude upgrade)

This attempted to upgrade the pcmcia-cs package. Borked. I inputed my
wired lan card to finish.

I remove the lan card, and re-inserted the wifi card (NetGear WG511
(china version), and would not work.

When I attemped to "modprobe ndiswrapper", I'me getting this error
message;

ndiswrapper version 1.0rc1 loaded (preemt=yes smp=no)
ndiswrapper (wrapper_init:1492) loadndiswrapper failed (1536) ; check
system log for messages from 'ndiswrapper' FATAL: Error inserting
ndiswrapper (/lib/modules/2.6.7-1-686/misc/ndiswrapper.ko): Operation
Not Permitted.

There are no messages in /var/log/syslog

I've removed ndiswrapper, re-installed, with the same message.

Any other ideas?

Thanks
