As you neglected to say what programs, other then KDE, you are trying
to use, this may not be revelent. I am running my setup as root and
have not, yet, even looked into changing it (I am the only user on
this box anyway).
I have a Kodak CX4320 working fine, with the dock, using the following
Debian packages.
gphoto2
libgphoto2-2
libgphoto2-2-dev
libgphoto2-port0
gtkam -- Has support for the DX6440
gtkam-gimp
hotplug
I found all the info required to get this setup up and running in the
Docs included with the above debian packages.
