Unable to set up Printer

I need some help to get my printer working. Yes, I've read the CUPS
Administration manual and searched Google. Either the answers aren't
there or I'm not smart enough to see it.

I'm running Debian 3.1 and kernel 2.6.10 on an DEC Alpha SX164 with
an HP Officejet 720 attached to the parallel port. I'm using cups with the
following printing packages installed:

cupsys                             1.1.22-6
cupsys-bsd                     1.1.22-6
cupsys-client                 1.1.22-6
libcupsimage2              1.1.22-6
libcupsys2-gnutls10    1.1.22-6
libgnomecups1.0-1       0.1.13-1
foomatic-db                   20041203-1
foomatic-db-engine      3.0.2-2
foomatic-db-hpijs        1.5-20041013-1
foomatic-filters            3.0.2-3
foomatic-filters-ppds  20041013-1
hpijs                                1.7.1-2

Here's the .config info

CONFIG_PARPORT=y
CONFIG_PARPORT_PC=y
CONFIG_PARPORT_PC_CML1=y
# CONFIG_PARPORT_SERIAL is not set
# CONFIG_PARPORT_PC_FIFO is not set
# CONFIG_PARPORT_PC_SUPERIO is not set
# CONFIG_PARPORT_OTHER is not set
CONFIG_PARPORT_1284=y
CONFIG_PRINTER=y

From my /var/log/dmesg:

From cat /proc/sys/dev/parport/parport0/autoprobe:

CLASS:PRINTER;

COMMAND SET:MLC,PCL,PML;

I have selected yes to raw printing and option 3 (parallel) when running
dpkg-reconfigure cupsys.

The lpinfo -v command shows nothing. Consequently, CUPS Web admin
is unable to detect any devices.

Is there's something I'm missing?
