Thanks Sam, this is a good suggestion. (So good that I
had already tried it! :)) 800x600 is all I can get
with 16-bit color. I can get 800*600 at 24 and 16
bit, no 1024*768 at all.
800*600*24/8 = 1.44 M
1024*768*16/8 = 1.57 M
So it seems the limit on my card is somewhere between
the two.
I've resigned myself to a new(er) motherboard and
video card, sadly.
