In addition to Alex's fine list: voice recognition (Dragon Naturally
Speaking), small business accounting (QuickBooks[Pro], although
that is a more subjective call) and calendar servers integrated
with MTA/IMAP functionality (IOW, a good replacement for all the
*functionality* in Exchange Server).

And there is so much specialized and vertical s/w that has no
compare in the Linux world
