error while mirroring debian stable

Hi!

I am trying to mirror debian woody using debmirror:

debmirror /home/debian/mirror/ -h ftp.ro.debian.org -d stable \
	--nosource --progress --passive

and I get the following result:

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Mirroring to /home/debian/mirror/ from
ftp://anonymous:ftp.ro.debian.org//debian/

Arches: i386

Dists: stable

Sections: main,contrib,non-free,main/debian-installer

Passive mode on.

Attempting to get lock, this might take 2 minutes before it fails.

I am getting the same error:
"Won't mirror without
dists/stable/main/debian-installer/binary-i386/Packages.gz signature in
Release at /usr/bin/debmirror line 1094. "
when I try to mirror from ftp.debian.org, so it is nothing wrong with
the ftp.ro.debian.org mirror.

I am am going to introduce some Windows admins to Linux next week.
Installing from CDs or from an official mirror will take a lot of time,
and there are going to be a lot of installations and experimentation (14
students per group, two groups, 5 days for each group). Having a mirror
closer would speed the things a lot, and lessen the pressure on official
mirrors.

As far I can see, I followed the instruction in debmirror documentation
... but I might be wrong. Any suggestions?

thanks,

Emil Perhinschi
