X and Intel I810 video card

Hi all,

I'm new to running X and I'm having a problem getting the I810 video card 
on this D845GLVA motherboard to run at 1280x1024 on my 17" TFT monitor:

I've got this line in my XFree86
SubSection "Display"
        Depth   24
        Modes   "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600"
EndSubSection

But /var/log/XFfree86.0.log shows:
(II) I810(0): Not using mode "1280x1024" (no mode of this name)

After JFGI I tried a Modeline command in my Monitor definition:
        Modeline        "1280x1024" 60 1280 1200 1360 1500 1024 1000 1100 1300

But that didn't seem to fix it. I've attached XFree86.0.log and 
XF86Config-4 for perusal, I would love to know what I'm doing wrong!
