my bad. typo. it didn't like 'ask-no' as you posted, but accepted 'yes'
or 'no'. Where no is mime attachment and yes is ascii inline gpg.

I did with
send-hook '~C nylug' 'set pgp_create_traditional=yes'
the 'send-hook' seems to work. never tried the 'folder-hook'.
