Load the driver for your card. If it is a PCI card, use lspci to find
out what card you have. Go to groups.google.com and enter some
information on your card to find out which driver you need. You can
load it with modprobe, and add it to /etc/modules to make sure it is
loaded at boot time.

However, if you want to really use this system on a desktop computer,
you probably want to upgrade to the current stable version of Debian
(3.0r2 "Woody"). The software in Potato is really ancient, and there is
no support from the Debian security team for Potato anymore. If you
have a fast internet connection, you can upgrade your current system
over the net. Check the Docs section on debian.org.
