debian unstable on a sony vaio
i have sucsessfully installed debian unstable (by installing sarge and
then upgrading) on a sony vaio pcg-c1mwp laptop, however i need help
getting a few final things to work: firstly in order to get the
jogdial (a kind of scroll wheel built in to the laptop) working i need
to be able to access /dev/sonypi as a normal user - its current
permissions are 660 - i want them to be 666. when i try to chmod it it
works fine untill reboot when it reverts back. another problem i have
encountered concerns getting the "motion eye" inbuilt webcam working.
i have the videodev and meye modules loading at startup - however i
lack a /dev/video* device and am unsure how to create one - mknod
/dev/video0 c 81 0 produces a device which v4l cannot access/does not
recognise. i am using a stick debian kernel 2.6.7 - can anyone help
me with either of these problems?
