xfree4.3.0 with cirrus GD5436 video card

Hi,

I'm having trouble getting X to work.

I'm running uptodate Sid with kernel-image 2.6.7 on a Compaq Deskpro
2000 PC5120

I've had X running previously but I don't normally run it so I
don't know when it stopped working unfortunately.

The full log is below but these are the errors from it

(--) CIRRUS(0): Linear framebuffer at 0x40000000
(EE) CIRRUS(0): No valid MMIO address in PCI config space
(--) CIRRUS(0): Not Using MMIO

(EE) CIRRUS(0): I2C initialization failed

This shows up in dmesg (included below):
vesafb: probe of vesafb0 failed with error -6

Is that another problem?

I've looked on google but couldn't find a solution that seems relevant
to Xfree86 4.3.0. The readme says that the GD4536 is supported. I'm
guessing I need to an option or two in my XF86Config-4 (included below)
but I haven't a clue where to start without risking damaging anything.

Maybe I have a hardware problem :-( The GD5436 is embedded in the
motherboard It seems.

I only download my mail every 3 days or so. So if you need any
more info I can supply it then, hopefully this will help someone else
in future.

Following is (hopefully helpful) info:
