Hi Dan, not sure what the original question was but...
disks can, from time to time, move. So, its best for you to inspect
/var/log/message after the disk is inserted and see what it is really
called. On another note, I used installed the new toy called 'udev' for
the 2.6 kernel. It provides a way to setup devices (like hard drives) to
have the SAME name no matter where you put a disk. Look into that if you
get a chance.
