Note that rather than attempt to splice the MPEGs together, you could
instead burn each seperate MPEG as a different `scene' on a DVD or
track on an (S)VCD. Most players will move onto the next track
automatically when the current one finishes, meaning a seamless join
from a playing POV, without involving editing/encoding.
