Easiest way?

- Boot on the destination server using knoppix.
- fdisk /dev/hda. Repartition as you see fit.
- mke2fs on the partition.
- mkswap on the swap partition
- mount the partition as, say, /new
- copy all files with:

  cd /new
  rsync -avP -e ssh --exclude /proc root@source_machine:/ 

- Edit new/etc/* to change host names, etc,etc
- chroot /new
- Look at lilo.conf and fstab and make sure "/" is the same partition
- lilo -v
- reboot
- go have fun with your windows friends who need to pay extra to do
  this. :)
