I think that's correct. I don't use the 'revision' switch. Instead I've
been modifying the top-level Makefile and setting the EXTRAVERSION
variable.

Yes. Or 'make gconfig'. What a nice set of tools.

That's exactly -- except for the --revision vs. EXTRAVERSION -- what I did.
