I haven't seen a list.  But if you're running the Debian packages of
gdesklets, gdesklets-data (you do have that one installed, right?  it's
not a dependency of gdesklets, for some unknown reason; but gdesklets
won't work without it) and its dependencies, and you're having these
problems, and you've poked around and feel pretty sure you haven't done
anything to muck it up, then file bugs.

I went to Google, typed in "gdesklets", hit "search", and the VERY FIRST
entry it returned was the homepage for gdesklets, which describes what
all the available desklets do, in detail, with screenshots.

There are a couple of hundred.  That'd be a lot of menu items.  But I
agree that "having to know it exists, and thus know to go and look for
it" isn't the best approach either.
